The Building Company Celebrates Mandela Day with Vibrant Acts of Service

Each year on the 18th of July, the nation commemorates Nelson Mandela’s legacy by engaging in acts of service and philanthropy. This year, The Building Company (TBCo) embraced a fresh perspective on this annual day of service, calling upon its team not only to support organizations in need but also to make a profound impact through vibrant and innovative initiatives.
A coordinated volunteering effort was launched across all TBCo sites, stores, and offices, aimed at spreading goodwill throughout the country. Each location identified a registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO) or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that we could support with building material or facility maintenance. Preference was given to organizations focusing on children, vulnerable populations, and those collaborating with other entities, including animal welfare groups.
Teams from TBCo didn’t just provide necessary building materials and donations; they actively engaged in maintenance activities, leaving behind a trail of cheer and positivity. Employees demonstrated exceptional dedication and creativity, surpassing expectations and embodying the spirit of giving back to their communities.
“We are thrilled to report that the response from our employees has been truly incredible,” stated Steve Du Toit, CEO of The Building Company. “Each one of them embraced Mandela Day with unparalleled enthusiasm, showing unity and compassion in action.”
“At The Building Company, we take immense pride in partnering with such generous and compassionate individuals,” continued Du Toit. “Our contributions extend beyond physical structures; they contribute to building lives, homes, and fostering stronger communities for those around us.”
TBCo looks forward to continuing its tradition of making a meaningful impact on Mandela Day and throughout the year, supporting community growth and unity.
